I got tired of manually counting out 10, 15, or 25 .22LR cartridges from a bulk ammo box each time I reloaded my .22 firearms at the range, so I put together this model to quickly and mindlessly load a 50-round tray of .22LR. I just find that loading from a 50-round tray is way more pleasant than manually counting out multiple small piles of bullets on the shooting table.
The design requires a small zip tie, which acts as a bullet retainer to keep rounds from falling out all over the place. Loop the zip tie over the peg, feed it through the guide slot, then trim it so it sticks out just enough to keep everything from falling out.
To use: load up a good handful of .22 rounds into the box, install the lid, and give it several good shakes. Rounds will fall through the slot and get caught by the rim, then slide down the loading arm. Once you have 10+ rounds lined up in the slot, put the bullet tips into the tray (long-ways, loading 10 at a time) and strip the bullets off into the tray. Rinse and repeat 4 more times to fill the tray.
I've tested this with .22 LR and .22 Short rounds and it works pretty well. From the testing, this should work jsut fine with .22 Short, Long, Long Rifle, as well as .17 HM2.
I printed it in PLA+, 2 perimeters and 20% cubic infill. A brim on the main loader body helps ensure that the bottom of the loading arm stays stuck to the build plate (the rails are very thin). No supports needed!
