If you happen to own a Caldwell Brass Trap the base may leave you wanting something different. Everyone has their own unique situations, in this case, a tripod was not convenient in the narrow bays. Also needed to work flat on the bench but not be take up a lot of room.
This new base has a number of features that make it work differently than the stamped steel version that comes from Caldwell.
* The catching end has different angle holes that can help get you the right coverage
* The back goes straight up, this can help if you have a close backstop brass still holds its place well but you may need to empty it more than with the original, still better than chasing brass.
* A beanbag can be tossed into the center, under the net, to keep it in place on the bench.
* Irwin clamp might work in your stall (this really depends on how it's built and what you might have to clamp to, see pic)
* Three options for the foot situation:
1. No foot, all you do is pistol and you don't own a Garmin Xero crono Or you don't use the clamp so don't need to offset for the wing nut on the bottom.
2. Foot only, if you use it for pistol and rifle but don't own a Garmin Xero cronograph
3. Garmin mount foot, for pistol, drop your Garmin tripod mounted Xero in the hole and it's closer to your barrel, making missed shots a thing of the past.
Other parts for assembly
* Caldwell Brass Trap (see above)
* 2 x M4-0.7 16mm screws to hold the foot on
For the Irwin clamp
* 1 x Irwin Quick-grip (pictured is 16 long by 0.70x0.20 inch (or 18.22x5.41mm) slide
* 1 x ¼-20 1.25 inch long Bolt (for tightening on to clamp)
* 1 x ¼-20 Wing nut (I used these here)
* 1 x large fender washer.
The base prints right side up, shouldn't need support for modern printers even with the span
The feet print upside down
