So this is an upgrade of the adapter base that allows for a much easier and repeatable use of the RCBS 505 scale. I had used that version for a number of years and enjoyed it, but after seeing The Target Master video on Youtube of just using a web cam to give an inline larger view. As I already had USB Cameras and Micro/USB C adapters I created this version using the original as the starting point.
As I ran into issues with the strength of the post holding the camera, partly from me seeing how much it took to break it and know I would be using this in the future for on site reloading I created a second version of this with a hole through the post the right size to put a 3/16" (5.5mm) wood dowel in to create a core instead of getting into playing with infill and the like to boost the strength.
While this model is based off of the original I ended up redoing it from scratch in Onshape to create on that can be printed as a one piece on a Ender3 bed. So I shortened the overall width of the model and moved the extension of the camera holder to be just off the front with the camera holder.
The camera holder I created for this of course will not be of a whole lot of use if you are not using the same camera, doing a quick search on Amazon for a "USB Camera Wide Angle" should give you something compatible quickly. I don't know if the plate that I made to mount to the camera was really necessary as you could just shrink the volume of the box it sits in it and that would work. guess I'm redoing that shortly. but I expect you may have to adjust the holder for which ever camera you use. Otherwise it is a simple USB Camera app that is running on the phone to display the picture.
So that didn't take till the end of the day before I did up an updated camera holder that I find to be very stable and will be what I use going forward (V9 of the file)
