Request. The Libel is an 8mm bolt action rifle that entered service with the French Army in 1887. It holds a total of 10 rounds (8 in the fore stock, one in the elevator and one in the Barrel). This was the first Rifle to use smokeless powder that was invented by the French Chemist (Paul Vielle) in 1884. Altogether 3.45 million were produced by the three French State factories. It may not be perfect but some of the drawing were bad.
