I couldn't find any printable bipod that was both strong and didn't require excessive hardware, so I designed my own. The goal was to minimize the amount of fasteners used, print all required springs as compliant mechanisms, and make it reliable in outdoor use.
The bipod is based around 16x14x145 and 10x8x140 CF (alternatively GF/aluminum) tubes for 6-10" height. It can be made longer/shorter with 14 mm increments and printing adjusted amount of serrated sleeves.
Hardware needed:
- 2x M3x40 screw and 2x M3 square nut, for attaching to picatinny rail
- 2x M3x25 screw, for legs pivot
- 2x M3x25 screw, or CF/steel rod for adjustment lever pivot
- (optional) 2x M3x6 screw, sharpened, for spiked feet for better grip
Assembly
To assemble, refer to the renders (numbered one in particular), or CAD model when in doubt. Correct assembly order is required, or else you'll end up with inner leg parts separate with the rest of the bipod. Use the printed tools to cut necessary holes in the bigger tube. Glue all the parts with thin CA.
