Springfield offers a 7-round magazine for their .45 ACP XD-S original model, but not (yet?) for the newer XD-S Mod.2. The “Mod.1” magazine will not fit into a Mod.2 receptacle due to interference with the plastic grip extension. However, the underlying metal magazine itself is exactly the same component, and the plastic grip extension is removable.
This model is a plastic grip jacket that slips over an XD-S original (non-Mod.2) 7-round magazine and allows it to seat into an XD-S Mod.2. It does not alter the function of the magazine in any way (in fact, the magazine works no differently even without any plastic grip extension installed).
PETG is probably preferred. Layer height, infill, etc., doesn't really matter. Supports are required. You may wish to print it “upside down” so that the rough surface where supports detached will be faced toward the firearm instead of sitting in the palm of your hand.
Check local laws and regulations in your area regarding 3D-printing of firearm accessories. User assumes all liability for usage of the model.
